Privacy Policy
Verbatio ("the app," "we," "our") is an offline speech-to-text and summarization app for Android. This policy explains what information the app handles, how it's used, and the choices available to you. We've written it to reflect exactly how the app works, not generic boilerplate — if something below ever stops matching the app's actual behavior, that's a bug that needs fixing before it's a privacy problem.
Verbatio is built to process your audio, transcripts, and summaries entirely on your device. We do not operate servers that receive, store, or process your recordings, transcripts, or summaries. There is no account or sign-in. The only information that leaves your device is the one-time purchase transaction, which is handled directly by Google Play, not by us.
On-device onlyEverything you record or import, and everything the app generates from it (transcripts and summaries), is processed using on-device AI models and stored in the app's private local storage on your device. This data is never transmitted to us or to any third-party server as part of normal app operation. It stays on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app.
Handled by Google PlayWhen you make the one-time in-app purchase, that transaction is processed by Google Play Billing. We receive confirmation that a valid purchase was made (so the app can unlock), but payment details (card numbers, billing address, etc.) are handled directly by Google under its own privacy policy, not by us.
No content includedWe use Android's built-in Android Vitals system to monitor crash rates and technical stability. This provides technical diagnostic signals (e.g., that a crash occurred and where in the code) and does not include your recordings, transcripts, summaries, or any other content you've created in the app.
Verbatio requests the following Android permissions, and only uses them for the stated purpose:
Because processing happens on-device, "use" of your content is limited to the app performing the function you asked for: turning your audio into a transcript, and turning a transcript into a summary or formatted document, at your request, on your device. We do not use your content for advertising, model training, analytics, or any purpose beyond providing the feature you triggered.
All recordings, transcripts, and summaries are stored locally in the app's private storage on your device. They remain there until you delete them individually within the app, use the "delete all data" option in Settings, or uninstall the app — any of which permanently removes that data from your device. Because we don't hold a copy anywhere else, there's no separate server-side deletion process required: deleting it on your device is the complete removal.
We do not sell, rent, or share your recordings, transcripts, or summaries with any third party. The only third-party service involved in using Verbatio is Google Play Billing for processing the one-time purchase, and Google Play services generally as the platform the app is distributed and installed through, both governed by Google's own privacy policy.
Verbatio is not directed at children under 13 (or the relevant minimum age in your region) and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has used the app in a way that concerns you, please contact us using the details below.
If this policy changes, we'll update the effective date above and, for material changes, provide reasonable notice within the app (e.g., on the next launch) before the change takes effect.
